Marcy, Don and I drove up to Estes Park, CO which is the home of the famous Stanley Hotel. This is the hotel that was used in the movie The Shining with Jack Nicholson. As most of you know, I'm a true horror fan and being in this hotel was fantastic. As you can see, it's a gorgeous hotel and the woodwork inside is very impressive. I wasn't supposed to but I sneaked up the stairs to see the famous room 217 and the halls that Danny rode his big wheeler down. It was fun being there.

While we were visiting Marcy in Colorado, Don and I went for a drive in Rocky Mountain National Park. We stopped several times and hiked a little off the road for some spectacular views. Yes, that is snow behind us and yes, it was chilly.

We drove up Trail Ridge road in the Rocky Mountain National Park and spotted some elk. Here are some of those pictures.

Look carefully - Wendy is looking at an elk.

Don and I met Scott and Laura in Washington, DC for a few days. Here are some of the pictures from that trip. We didn't have very much time, just 2 full days, but we were able to accomplish a lot of tourist activities during our visit. We all agreed that touring Washington, DC on a Segway is by far the best way to see all the sites...without hurting your feet.
Favorite tour: Segway tour
Favorite meal: Denny's (don't ask)
Favorite monument: WWII memorial
Favorite tour guide: Andrew (NOT!!)
